The attention of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council has been drawn to the activities of certain individuals, groups, and bodies who have continued to issue daily tickets and collect various forms of levies in the name of the Council, despite the dissolution of ALL revenue and collection committees and several warnings issued previously.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Council hereby directs that all persons, groups, and organizations currently issuing any form of tickets or collecting levies purportedly on behalf of the Council must CEASE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, return their letters of authority to the Office of the Chairman for proper profiling and re-authorization.
This exercise aims to sanitize the Council’s revenue collection system, ensure accountability, and eliminate fraudulent practices.
Any person, group, or body who fails to comply with this directive and continues to parade themselves as agents or representatives of the Council will be deemed to be impersonating the Local Government, and such persons will be ARRESTED AND PROSECUTED in accordance with the law.
All security agencies and the Council’s taskforce units are hereby directed to ENFORCE THIS DIRECTIVE STRICTLY.
BY THIS NOTICE, everyone concerned is advised to take IMMEDIATE ACTION to avoid the consequences of non-compliance.
